During every ITSM Academy course, each learner is given a Personal Action Plan (PAP). A simple worksheet used to capture:
The PAP helps ensure training doesn’t stay in the classroom; rather, learners walk out with tangible items to improve.
Training has the highest impact when individuals and leaders work together to convert new knowledge into improved performance. The PAP helps organizations:
We recommend a simple, repeatable approach:
1. Collect PAPs from all learnersGather copies of individual PAPs at the end of class or immediately afterward.
2. Look for patternsReview responses as a group. Identify overlapping pain points, common “first actions,” and improvement opportunities that impact flow, speed, or experience.
3. Choose 2–3 team-level actionsTranslate individual actions into a coordinated plan: what can we start improving now, who needs to be involved, and how will we measure progress?
4. Reinforce actions in daily workFold agreed-upon actions into stand-ups, team meetings, retrospectives, and performance discussions. This is how applied learning becomes continuous improvement.
As part of any corporate training delivery, ITSM Academy provides a complimentary 1-hour Personal Action Plan (PAP) Review Session led by one of our Subject Matter Experts.
In this virtual session, we help your team:
Recommended timing: Schedule your PAP Review 2–3 weeks after class to maximize adoption and impact.
The Personal Action Plan is more than a worksheet. It is a bridge between learning and lasting improvement. When PAPs are reviewed and activated, your organization captures more value from every training engagement.
